Mark 12:17 "And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him"

In the previous verse Jesus was asked if believers should pay taxes to the government. (not the most popular topic)

His response conveyed two key truths we need for today:

1. Legitimate human authority, while never perfect, should be accepted.

2. Our legitimate responsibility toward that authority should be fulfilled.

While we should never forget the limits God places on human authority - Acts 5:29 - we should always remember our duty.

Today, let us give the respect and obedience to the authority God has placed in our lives.

In so doing we shall bring glory to God and be faithful to His will for our lives.
